I’m excited to be featured on Chicago Manual of Style’s Shop Talk this month, along with a slew of other writers and editors. We’re sharing some of our resolutions for 2015—check it out. Here’s mine:

As a freelance editor, my goal is to pick up steady work with a publishing house this year. —Kelsey M.

Any leads on how I can go about pursuing this goal? I’ve got a few ideas, but I’m all ears for any hints and ideas you might have.

The icing on the cake: I was randomly picked to win a CMOS tote bag. Yay!

Share your own goals with me in the comments!

  1. Hi Kelsey! Thanks for sharing your goal! I am thinking I’d like to push my knowledge with WordPress even more and maybe even start writing some items too! Love the blog! Keep up the wonderful work!

Ps. Love the tote bag win!

  2. My goal is to stretch my creativity more this year by writing daily and exploring a wider range of topics. I’ve blogged about some ideas that have inspired me already at http://warrenpeaceofmymind.wordpress.com

  3. Thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad you like the blog–thanks for your kind comment. Learning more about WordPress is a great goal, and one I would like to focus on this year as well. There’s so much to learn, and it’s such a great tool. I will be trying to explore WordPress.org a bit this year, too. If you ever find you could use another set of eyes with your writing, I would love to help. Keep in touch! Good luck on reaching your goals this year! (And yes, the tote bag was a fun surprise!) 🙂

  4. It’s been fun to read those posts–thanks for sharing them. I’d like to get back into doing more hands-on creative work this year: painting, drawing, crafting. Creativity is so important, and stretching yourself creatively is such a worthy goal. Enjoy the process!

  5. Thanks I will keep you in mind, Kelsey! Have a happy and healthy new year! 😄
