Recent Work | IWU Nursing, Spring 2015
It’s that time of year again! You may remember from past posts that I produce a biannual magazine for Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing. This is the third issue we’ve done together.
I’m editor and project manager for this publication, which takes me beyond my typical proofreading niche: for this magazine, I also help with research, sourcing, copywriting, design, and typesetting.
Work has already begun on the fall issue, which will celebrate forty years of nursing at IWU. I’m excited to dive into that, as I love historical research and have had fun doing retrospective pieces for other clients. Meanwhile, check out the current issue, which has some great articles on the program’s overseas travels and the new sim lab, among other things.
Magazine work is something I really enjoy, so one of my freelancing goals for this year was to pick up additional magazine clients. I’ve shared some of my work on the Fort Wayne Vine and will pop in with updates on other projects throughout this year.
You can check out past issues of IWU Nursing I’ve helped put together here and here. To see more of my recent work, check out my online portfolio.

Recent Work | Fort Wayne Vine
Popping in to share a recent proofreading project: the most recent issue of the Fort Wayne Vine, a publication of the Fort Wayne Alumni and Friends Resource Center. Three unique versions of this issue were produced, each featuring variable data dependent on the intended audiences. I love this innovative approach! This most recent issue just won a Silver Medallion award from the Advertising Federation of Fort Wayne.

Recent Work | IWU Nursing, Fall 2014
I’m excited to now be able to share with you a project I wrapped up this past August: the fall 2014 issue of IWU Nursing.
Last year I began working with Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing to produce their biannual magazine; this is the second issue we’ve done together. IWU Nursing has a print circulation of 10,000, and in addition, the last issue had more than 22,000 online views. I serve as editor and project manager for this publication, which means I’m involved in research, sourcing, copywriting, design, typesetting, and of course, editing. It’s great to be able to be involved in so many stages of the publication process.
I’m so pleased with how this issue turned out. The School of Nursing is one of my favorite clients, and I’ve always enjoyed the magazine format. Click through above to read this issue—I’d love to hear what you think!
