One Year in Colorado

Welcome to Colorado

A year ago today was moving day! It’s hard to believe it’s already our one-year anniversary of living in Colorado.

There’s been a lot to love about our new home, but my favorite part, by far, has been the outdoors. It’s wonderful to live right near the mountains and to be able to be out in the scenery. Looking back over the past year, I’ve especially enjoyed watching the seasons change in town and on Pikes Peak.

This was the view from our place this fall, a month or so after we’d gotten settled in and before the leaves had completely turned.

And here’s the view from this past winter:

Pretty sure I’ll never get tired of this.

Over the past year we’ve started gathering favorites: favorite bookstores, favorite shops, favorite pizza place (Blackjack Pizza, of course). Here’s Red Rock Canyon Open Space, our favorite place to hike.

There’s still tons more to do and see, of course, but we’ve gotten off to a fun start. We’ve got a list of places in Colorado we want to visit, and I’m looking forward to exploring the state more over the next year, and the year after that. Here’s to many more years, in fact, in Colorful Colorado. 🙂
